The BLAQ mask has recently been taking social media by storm since its release earlier in the year. The black goo is taking over your Instagram feed post by post. Now the Australian skincare brand has found its first NZ distributor, The Beauty Collective making this product more accessible than ever before.
What is BLAQ Mask?
BLAQ Mask is a peel off mask designed to help remove nasty blackheads as well as remove the other dirt and grime that causes those pesky blackheads. BLAQ Mask using a key ingredient activated charcoal which uproots blackheads to leave skin pure and poreless. BLAQ Mask’s other ingredients include collagen, hyaluronic acid, and vitamin C.
The BLAQ Mask comes in a 60ml black tube and retails for NZD$29.99 at The Beauty Collective. BLAQ Masks are also Cruelty-Free, being committed to producing 100% cruelty-free cosmetics, and they don’t test any of our raw materials or finished products on animals.
The mask is very easy to use. To start, cleanse your skin, then remove with a warm towel to open the pores. It suggests that you apply an even layer to your problem areas, avoiding the lips, hairline, and brows. Wait 15-20 minutes for the mask to dry. Starting at bottom outer edge, slowly peel off the mask in an upward direction.
We’ve all seen the horror stories, the YouTube videos where they remove these peel off mask types and struggle. With all this in mind, I jumped right in applying BLAQ Mask across my chin and my nose area.
This was my first mistake. More on this shortly.
As it dried, I didn’t feel any weird feels or smells, it smelt like it should actually.
Now for the peeling off. It hurt, but this was all my fault. See I put the mask on my chin and right along, almost close to my ears, which of course met some little blonde hairs and well this hurt. Once those bits were sorted, it was on to the rest and can I say so rewarding. My skin was left tidy and clean, no redness either.
Would I use this product again, yes yes I would, but just around the nose. I am pretty sure my boyfriend, however, might just steal this.
- Start off small until you are used to the product and how it works.
- Wash off any excess product with warm soapy water after rather than try and pick it off
- Use it weekly and pair with perhaps a clay mask.
- Hide it from your boyfriend….seriously.
