Spring is here, and I don’t know about you but it is still cold AF, wet and eww and all I feel like doing is hitting the movies. Luckily this October there is some rad as movies so here is what is in store for you.
Blade Runner 2049 (Out October 5th)
Two words – RYAN GOSLING. Yep, that’s one reason I’m excited to check out this flick.
Officer K (Ryan Gosling), a new blade runner for the Los Angeles Police Department, unearths a long-buried secret that has the potential to plunge what’s left of society into chaos. His discovery leads him on a quest to find Rick Deckard (Harrison Ford), a former blade runner who’s been missing for 30 years.
A stellar cast, this movie looks action-packed, but boy does it have a long running time. 2 hours and 43 minutes. Thank god for Gosling.
The Mountian Between Us (12th October)
Book turned movie we have The Mountain Between Us. Starring Kate Winslet and Idris Elba.
Stranded on a mountain after a tragic plane crash, two strangers must work together to endure the extreme elements of the remote, snow-covered terrain. Realizing that help is not on the way, they embark on a perilous journey across hundreds of miles of wilderness, pushing each other to survive and discovering their inner strength.
I am most excited to see how these two work together on screen.
Happy Death Day (October 12th)
Just in time for Halloween, we have Happy Death Day. Tree Gelbman is a student who wakes up on her birthday in the bed of a fellow student named Carter. As the morning goes on, Tree gets the eerie feeling that she’s experienced the events of this day before. When a masked killer suddenly takes her life in a brutal attack, she once again magically wakes up in Carter’s dorm room unharmed. Now, Tree must relive the same day over and over until she figures out who murdered her.
That trailer though…I had that song stuck in my head for days.
Home Again ( October 19th)
Recently separated from her husband, Alice Kinney decides to start over by moving back to Los Angeles with her two daughters. While celebrating her 40th birthday, Alice meets Harry, George and Teddy, three young filmmakers who need a place to live. She invites them to stay with her and natually hell breaks loose.
Reese Witherspoon is the star of this film and I am looking forward to seeing her tackle this somewhat unique storyline.
Stronger (October 19th)
A darker more sombre film we have Stronger. Stronger tells the story of Jeff Bauman who loses both of his legs when two bombs exploded during the Boston Marathon on April 15, 2013.
Jake Gyllenhaal plays the lead here and reviews so far are promising.
What Movie are you most excited for this October?
