I am a big Diet Coke fan, in fact I have a can open now. I am also a massive Marc Jacob’s fan, so I was delighted to find out that American designer Marc Jacobs is taking over from Jean Paul Gaultier as the creative director of Diet Coke for 2013.
“I feel very privileged to be the new creative director of Diet Coke and put my stamp on the 30th anniversary campaign,” said Jacobs. “Diet Coke is an icon – and I love an icon.”
Diet Coke celebrates its 30th anniversary this year, and so the partnership has been dubbed ‘Sparkling Together For 30 Years’ and from next month, a limited collection of bottles and cans designed by Jacobs and inspired by the Eighties, Nineties and Noughties with a whimsical twist will go on sale.
