Matrix Total Results 21 Day Challenge Results

It was only a few weeks ago that I decided to take on the Matrix Total Results 21 Day Challenge. I was looking for a hair care system that did the complete job and was cost-effective. You can read more about my pervious hair care routine and day one here.

I got my hair assessed and was recommended the Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume range as well as some extras.

Here is what I have been using for the last 21 days:

  • Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume Shampoo
  • Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume conditioner
  • Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume Wonder Boost Root lifter
  • Matrix Total Results Color care Miracle Treat Lotion Spray 12
  • Matrix Total Results Sleek Iron Smoother
  • Matrix Biolage Fortetherapie Cera-Repair Pro in Salon Treatment

Firstly the Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume Shampoo and Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume conditioner. Both products I enjoyed, they had a fresh smell and I didn’t use a lot of the product making it even more cost-effective. I do intend to continue the use of this product as my hair did seem better for it.

The Matrix Total Results Amplify Volume Wonder Boost Root lifter was a great product it really gave me the extra lift my flat hair needed. On the days in which I didn’t use it my hair tended to be flat and lifeless. My only gripe was I found the packaging annoying, with a clip on lid cover that would only be necessary for travel.

The Matrix Total Results Color Care Miracle Treat Lotion Spray was one of my favourite products. In fact it made one of my Weekly Loves article. The bottle  has a spray applicator, this means you can spray the product directly on to towel dried hair but it has a duo applicator, so if you hold the spray applicator close to your hand and pump it forms a serum for more concentrated and controlled use. I have been using it as a serum on my wet hair in the mornings however I have found using the spray applicator helpful as a finishing product. I’m keeping this product.

The Matrix Total Results Sleek Iron Smoother was my least favourite product and not because the product isn’t great it is a great product just not for me and the way I style my hair. On my first use I sprayed it generously all over. and then ran the straighter over the front and at the roots to tidy my style up. The areas that meet the straighter was beautifully soft and sleek but the ends where left with a coating of product which I could feel. I have now just started to apply the product to areas that are being straightened. This product was great when I did a curls making them easier to form and helping them last longer.

The other product I used which wasn’t part of the Total Results range was the Matrix Biolage Fortetherapie Cera-Repair Pro in Salon Treatment. This treatment, designed to be used in salon was great. I transferred the vile into a spray bottle and applied over my freshly shampooed towel dried hair and left for 5 minutes. The result was beautiful soft sleek hair. I really enjoyed this product it wasn’t to intense and by using a spray bottle it was easy to apply.

Overall I was impressed with it. The packaging was clean and easy to use. The Matrix Total Results range has a recommended retail price of$18.50 per product which I believe is more than reasonable when compared with my $38 product I used perviously. Some items I liked more than others and its all about finding a fit for you.  I will continue using a majority of the products as I am not compromising on quality and will be spending less.  I also found the hair care routine easy to use.

I suggest you take on the challenge. What do you have to lose?
