Today was the forth day of the Mercedes-Benz Australian Fashion Week held at Sydney’s Carriageworks.
The line up today includeded Bless’ed Are The Meek, Suboo, The Innovators, Phoenix Keating, Haryono Setiadi, Emma Mulholland and Shakuhachi.Model at Bless’ed Are The Meek
Bless’ed Are The Meek – An interesting show with a very long intro taking you on their journey. The models walked with hair-raising eye brows. The collection “Wanderlust” had a warrior chick feel too it. Both with the feathered eyebrows, the hand-strapping and the tribal prints. Monochrome also made quite the feature.
Suboo – My second show of the day featured a very wearable collection. Their show last year held in a revolving restaurant has been claimed by many to have been the show of the week so I was really looking for an eye-opener. Suboo which can be purchased on Shopbop features swimwear, resort wear and cocktail dresses. The range itself seemed very mature with splashes of whites and blues.
Phoenix Keating – This brand had created a lot of hype in the lead up to the event announcing the starring role of two stunning international models Julia Nobis & Ruby Jean Wilson making this show a must see. It was held with the models standing making for perfect photos and a great view all round. The dresses where so intricate and each and every detail was well throughout and perfect. The colour palette featured stone colours with black, greys and whites. New Zealand’s own Amber D looked after the make-up which featured fuchsia and black lip mixes to create the perfect colour. It was very powerful.
Emma Mulholland – Mulholland’s runway show was her first at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Australia. The collection Inspired by resort life and ’80s jet-set glamour featured her signature bold colours and exuberant prints. The hair was crazy in tones all over the rainbow. Models had yellow fringes and orange pony tails, some had pink ends. This whole collection was just crazy.
Shakuhachi -The label, showing for the second time at MBFWA described the look of their spring summer offering as a ‘techno-chic girl living in a floral fairytale’. The collection included perspex and neoprene! Wow. The fabrics used reminded me of Barbie dress up days Models wearing floral dresses paired with silver sneakers. They nailed it for me.
That’s a wrap
