I first meet Meagan through her work on nzgirl and I was delighted when she made the move to having her own blog aptly titled This is Meagan Kerr. Not only is Meagan’s content well written but she is also a professional photographer and produces some stunning photographs. If you haven’t already please check out This is Meagan Kerr, otherwise you are missing out.
What can you tell my readers about your blog? Give them your best sales pitch.
I am a plus size blogger based in New Zealand, and enjoy finding beautiful things that allow me to express myself – from fabulous frocks, to stylish shoes, to hot handbags. I believe that you can look fabulous no matter what your size or budget. It’s all about the attitude!
Now tell them about you? When you’re not blogging what are you doing?
I’m a bit of a Girl Friday – I am a photographer, a library assistant, a teaching assistant, a domestic goddess, and a Design and Visual Arts student! In my spare time (ha! As if that were plentiful!) I enjoy watching films and relaxing with my friends.
Describe your personal style?
I dress mostly in black, and prefer skirts to trousers. I wear clothes that suit me, rather than dressing to fashion trends, and love to accessorise. I am a creature of comfort, and choose to wear flats over heels.
If you could only wear one type of shoe for the rest of your life what would it be?
Ballet flats. They’re classy enough to wear out, but casual enough for every day.
What is your favourite garment in your wardrobe?
I own one pair of trousers – they’re an amazing stretch knit fabric and are so comfortable! They’re only downside is that their hand-wash only – I don’t have the attention span for that, so I don’t get to wear them as often as I’d like.
Fashion picks for 2013?
Rich colours (burgundy, emerald green, navy, plum and black) in lush fabrics. This is the palette (dark, darker, darkest) that I love the most.
What does beauty mean to you?
Confidence, emphasising your favourite features, and letting your natural beauty shine through.
Describe your beauty go to look?
BB cream, a brown/bronze/gold shadow to bring out my eyes, mascara, and lip balm. Quick, easy, and naturalish.
What beauty trends do you see for 2013?
A natural look (bring on that BB cream!) and big voluminous curls (I’m saying this solely because I have big hair). I’m also loving all of the pastel nail polishes at the moment!
What’s your must have desert island beauty product and why?
Water to keep my skin clear and hydrated! That’s a bit of a cop out, but it’s true – so necessary! Product-wise, I’d say a good moisturiser with a decent SPF – skin cancer isn’t cool, and nothing ages you more than too much unprotected sun exposure!
What can you tell my readers about your blogs future? Any plans or segments they should keep an eye out for?
I’m going to be posting a lot more fashion content in the future, hopefully along with some more editorial fashion shoots.
Any Last words?
You get one life, one chance, one body. Care for it, nourish it, nurture it, and respect it. Don’t wait until tomorrow to start living your life, jump in now, with both feet.
