Rubywaxx has two salons in Auckland, and one famously right next to Les Mills Auckland City. I would walk past Rubywaxx daily, and this month I for the first time decided to give it ago. Founded in 1997, Rubywaxx has been around a long time, and in an ever-changing beauty world, this is AMAZING and really does speak volumes.

The thing I like about Rubywaxx is that they do a fast range of treatments making it a one-stop-shop and when I say everything, I mean everything. From waxing and lash extensions, through to micro-needling, spray tans, facials and cosmetic injectables and more. Their goal is to make all men and women feel fabulous on the inside and out after popping in to see them.

Rubywaxx works with a range of brands but one brand, in particular, I have used before and trust. That brand was Aspect, so naturally, I decided to give the Aspect Dr Age Defining Peel ago. This anti-aging peel combines clinical strength acids and powerful skin-saving antioxidants to resurface skin to perfection by thoroughly disengaging layers of old discoloured skin cells to rebuild the appearance of firmer, less wrinkled looking skin and reveal a fresher, smoother surface with renewed clarity.

My experience at Rubywaxx was awesome, from booking to arriving, to the facial, the works. And can I also add ALEX WAS EPIC. You know how sometimes you just gel with your beauty therapist well that was me and Alex.

First, we did my tinting, and that was quick and easy, no stinging (thank goodness) then it was Facial time! We started with an oil cleanse then moved on to a double cleanse with Aspect gentle clean. Then it was Alex’s face part the Fruit Enzyme Mask, which acted as an enzyme exfoliator and man it smelt good. Then it was all about that prep toner and then that awesome Dr Aspect Vitamin A Peel - I love that bitey feel of a peel and this made my day! Then it was time to neutralise and hydrate with a Vitamin A and vitamin C serum, getting under those eyes. At this point, Alex got in and really massaged my face. Massages are the best! And Alex got right into my jaw releasing any tension! Oh lordy! Then of cause that all-important SMC Moisturiser to set me for the day - SPF is soooo important.

Wins for me at Rubywaxx was that I could get my brows tinted and lashes tinted, something I like to do between shapes and lifts. I also loved that I can book online - this is kinda a must for me! Alex, of course, was a highlight, and that massage….PERFECT! I left with glowing skin, a smile on my face, and you know what, that whole process was just easy!

That post peel face! Okay so I look a hot mess, but an hour later and my skin was glowing, juicy and VERY HAPPY.
