Review: Deebot Ozmo 900 from Godfreys

Ever since I watched the Jetsons as a kid I’ve dreamed of having my own robot servant, and as you know I am a massive fan of smart home technology. Well I am excited to announce I am the proud owner of my very first Robot (if you don’t count a Furby). The Deebot Ozmo 900 Vacuum from Godfreys.

The Deebot Ozmo 900 made by Ecovacs is my very own robot vacuum that cleans my house while I’m out, or doing more important things, and I’m in love. DeeDee, my cleaning lady, as I like to call her features intelligent navigation, an integrated vacuum and mop cleaning system, and an auto-boost power ability. Honestly, this robot is extremely efficient in solving my various cleaning needs.

I live in an apartment, with my rascal of a dog Brody. Brody is an older dog but with a lot of hair! And between the two of us, I was vacuuming for 20 minutes three times a week. I was spending an hour vacuuming a week, and a further 30 minutes mopping. DeeDee, my Deebot Ozmo 900 has given me back a whopping HOUR AND A HALF back in my life. Pretty epic.

The Deebot Ozmo 900 is a robot vacuum cleaner that you can operate either via an app or through Google Home or Amazon Alexa. - I use Amazon Alexa. It vacuums hard floors and carpets, and it has a mopping function as well.

She scans and maps your home to make cleaning efficient and you can use the app to set areas of the house you want it to pay particular attention too or you can also set ‘no-go zones’ if there are areas you want to keep it away from. So for me, I have cornered off my bed and my couch just because I have cables running underneath it.

The Ecovacs app shows you how long it has been cleaning for, it’s battery percentage and how much she has cleaned in the home. Using the app you can also set regular cleaning times or activate it when you are out. You can also change the vacuum power between standard and max, check the water level, activate Auto-Boost Suction, Continuous Cleaning and set a cleaning schedule. You can even locate your Deebot in case she goes missing.

The one thing I liked most about DeeDee, my Deebot Ozmo 900 is how quiet she is as well as efficient. Prior to DeeDee I owned a large Dyson. It was noisy and hard work, and I am pleased to see the back of it. I also was honestly surprised how effective the Deebot was with pet hair.

I am totally hands off with DeeDee as well. I have a cleaning schedule, Mondays, Wednesdays and Friday mornings and when battery power gets low my Deebot automatically returns to its charging station and recharges all by itself. The only thing I need to do? Empty the filter and replace the water. 5 mins max.

DeeDee my Deebot Ozmo 900 is from Godfreys. She retails for $1,299 NZD but honestly, for the hour and a half I am getting back each week, she is paying for herself.
