NEW from By Nature - A Beauty Review
By Nature is a brand I have talked about on the blog before and a brand I have used now for almost two years. By Nature wins for me because it is earth friendly, animal friendly and it doesn’t cost the earth. It works amazing alone, and combined with other brands.
You will often find me in the supermarket aisles picking up a facemask, or a wee treat when doing my supermarket shop. It is a brand I trust fully and when the opportunity came up to review the latest items I was all in.
By Nature has three new items to the market which I have trialled for over a month now and have reviewed below.
First up is the Hydrating 100% Pure Squalane Face Oil
This product has become a staple for me as winter has been hard on my skin leaving it dry and well unhappy. I don't use this product every day but if my skin is particularly dry or has a calling for it I will use this Face Oil. I apply this product at night before bed. Yes it is a bit oily but a little goes a long way, and it absorbs well- I love it. I pat it into my face and let it do its magic. I wake up with happy, glowing skin - and most importantly hydrated skin.
Now I was wondering what Squalane was. I have since learned it is derived from olive oil - squalane is moisturising without the heaviness.
This product is also an all in one, I have been using it on my scars, as cuticle oil at night and mixed some with my face cream some mornings for that extra help.
To amp up my night time routine even more I have also been using By Nature Hydro Jelly Sleep Mask with Glycerin, Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic Acid.
Before I dive into this product let's have a wee science lesson! I had to do some quick reading on some of these ingredients!
Glycerin - Glycerin is used in skincare because it can help reduce oily skin, but at the same time it attracts water to the skin. Glycerin is non-comedogenic (meaning it won't clog your pores) and helps to hydrate the skin by attracting moisture and sealing it in.
Aloe Vera - Aloe is one of my favourite plants and is very common in skincare. Aloe vera offers many benefits and is suited for all skin types, especially dry, damaged, broken, sensitive and irritated skin. It offers anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, antioxidant, humectant and soothing, anti-itch qualities for skin. So is ideal for hydration.
Hyaluronic Acid - This stuff is amazing for moisture and is very common in skin care because of this. The Hyaluronic Acid in this By Nature product is non-animal derived and is super hydrating, acting like a sponge to hold onto moisture- making it the perfect pairing with Glycerin. Hyaluronic Acid is a natural, highly active ingredient that fights dullness, fine lines and uneven tone and texture caused by daily UV exposure, stress and aging.
By Nature Hydro Jelly Sleep Mask with Glycerin, Aloe Vera and Hyaluronic Acid is pretty amazing. Packed with hydrating properties but without the oil. Its Jelly like texture is fun. Although best used at night time (30 minutes before bed, and a little absorbs best) I have been using it post workout before going out also.
I will be buying this product again, it's useful in winter when my skin is dry but I also think it will be amazing after a day at the beach in summer – you can even keep it in the fridge for extra cooling in the warmer months.
The last product I am going to talk about is one that has found a home in my handbag. It's the By Nature Hydrating Hand and Nail Cream with Rosewater and Whipped Shea Butter.
Winter kinda made my nails and cuticles a bit gross if I am honest and I went through a stage of ‘rehab’ before getting dipping powder on my nails. My nails are the longest they have ever been and they look great thanks to this new hand cream.
Here is what really sold me on this product. 1. It has a nice smell, which isn't too strong, 2. It isn’t overly sticky. I can apply it and resume typing away. 3. It is $6.99 and the tube is massive.
I have always found hand-cream a bit meh, something to weigh down the handbag and only using it really just before bed, however this one has been one I have been happily grabbing because it has been giving my hands what they need and helping them look good.
My reviews of By Nature will always be complementary, I do buy this brand, and I do use it. It’s not a hard brand to love. By Nature is made in New Zealand, is cruelty free and has no nasties in it. It's skin care using natural ingredients, skincare that works and doesn’t cost the earth.
I love it.
Have you tried By Nature? Honestly next time you go to the supermarket or The Warehouse give it ago!
