Five Things To Do Before The ASB Auckland Marathon
Man time has flown this year! Crazy to think that the ASB Auckland Marathon for 2017 is not too far away! CRAZY! Here are five things on my list for this week
1. Charity Last year over $1 million was raised, and this wouldn’t have happened without budding runners and walkers and their supporters. I’m not sure if you noticed this article a while back, but just 10% of runners ran for charity at the ASB Auckland Marathon last year versus 80% of runners in the London Marathon…so, NZ could be doing a lot better when it comes to raising money for charity through Kiwi events such as these. So if you see any runners looking for support donate and cheer them on!
2. Familiarise Yourself with the course.
Familiarise yourself with the course, check it out online first and then try driving it or walking parts if you can - it will help you to get a feel for how it will go on race day, the less surprises the better. And seeing it beforehand will also help you to visualize yourself getting through the race and make the day alot less stressful.
3. Proper Food and Hydration
Stосk up on adequate саrbоhуdrаtеѕ, fruits аnd vegetables amid thе wееk оf thе mаrаthоn, nоt оnlу thе nіght bеfоrе. Give your body the love it needs. 4. A good sleep and a solid outfit choice.
