Your Only Limit Is You

Recently I have been a little MIA, about 5.5 weeks ago I signed up for a Boxing Match with MJT Events. I have joined the Ludus Magnus Blue Team taking on the beautiful and smart Dani Robinson all in the name of charity. It's been a bigger rollercoaster than I ever expected but here are a few things I've learnt along the way.

  1. I am stronger than I think I am. This year an unfortunate series of events made me felt weak however look at me now! Seriously WOW I am taking hits and I am not giving up. I have been exhausted, I have missed people, I have been stressed and all the emotions but never once have I wanted to give up! I had the flu last week but I still pushed through.
  2. EMOTIONAL: Woah. I did not expect it. I drove home and cried some nights. I missed Ben, I wouldn't Sparr without my dad being there the list goes on. I got attached to shoes (of all things) and become overwhelemed at times.
  3. You've just got to back yourself. One thing I struggled with, for the first time ever, was the team aspect. I started to on occasion feel like my team didn't think I could do it, and I started to feel left out and with a loss of confidence. No one's fault of course, we all have schedules and skill levels but wanting to fit in, to be accepted weighed on my mind ALOT. Coach Andrew reminded me that at the end of the day it would only be Dani, the Ref and myself in the ring and well - who the fuck cares what anyone else thinks right? Regardless I love my team and are very proud of them all.
  4. It's really hard to Hit someone. Have you thought about that? Every week I had to force myself to hit someone with the intention to rattle them. You hit and you get hit. It's confronting. I don't think It's something I will ever get used to.
  5. I can do it. Yeah so this is points #1 and #3 but yeah girl. I got this. I am at my goal weight 58kgs, I can do full body push-ups! and yeah on Saturday I am getting into a ring and leaving it all on the canvas.

I just want to say a HUGE THANKS to everyone. Espically Deach, Rod, Andrew, Leigh, Mum, Dad, Taash and my friends who must be sick of hearing about it.
