MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer - Review

This last week I have been putting the Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer to the test. The Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer is a  fluid concealer that provides full matte coverage for up to 15 hours. I have tried it with and without primer around my eye area. I applied on tired eyes after only six hours sleep and I worked up a sweat at the gym with Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer applied.  I also took a good look at the packaging and ease of use.

Currently, I am using the MAC Cosmetics Pro Longwear Foundation so it seemed to make sense to try the complimenting concealer. Just like its foundation the Mac Pro Longwear concealer is of medium consistency and is available in over fifteen colours.  I found that the two went well together blending with ease despite the colour difference I had selected.

In terms of wear it was long-lasting and although the primer helped prepare the skin it wasn’t needed to ensure longevity.  I did find applying it with a #195 Mac Cosmetics Concealer brush was best as it ensured it was not too thick and applied an even coverage. When I used my index finger the product started to crease at the end of the day. Looking old is not the desired effect.

The packaging of the Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer was a winner for me. A tall glass tube with a pump about the size of a lipstick, 9mls worth of product.  It was sleek and smart and although the pump has taken awhile to get used to it has resulted in a non-messy application as I simply pump direct to the back of my hand or in a dish.  I have had other concealer’s where air clogs the tube blocking product and for one particular product, the tube used to burst at the other end so for me this packaging was a winner.

My one concern was dropping my Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer. As it is glass, it will break.

In summary, I liked the Mac Cosmetics Pro Longwear Concealer; it blended beautifully and was thick enough to hide dark circles without creasing. A win win. The sleek packing also made it a winner in my book.
