The Hydraglow Facial at the Silk Space Clinic was everything I needed and more. Based in Remuera Auckland, The Silk Space Clinic is the baby of Holly Crisp. Holly invited me to come in to get a facial, and I have been thinking about it for weeks. I was excited.

The clinic is 12 minutes max from my home in central Auckland, and parking was a breeze with off-road and street-side parking. I know it seems silly to talk to this stuff, but when getting a facial, I not only want to feel relaxed, but I want happy, glowing skin. An accessible parking experience adds to that oh so peaceful feeling.

When I got to the clinic, I was welcomed by the lovely Holly, and we went through a massive skin consolation. This step is super important when in the hands of someone new, but because your skin changes all the time, it is excellent to check-in!

Then we got started on the Hydraglow facial! For this facial, they combined exfoliation, rejuvenating actives, and hydrating electrolyte technology to create the ultimate facial that is said to leave your skin silky smooth and radiant. That it did!

The process takes around 90 minutes and has about 13 steps! Roughly! Starting with a cleanse and preparation solution and oil to ensure the skin is ready to go, we then move into dermaplaning.

It was my first time having dermaplaning, and it was relaxing, super relaxing. I had always been meaning to try dermaplaning, and it just hasn’t happened, but it made so much sense to do it as part of a facial. My skin essentially was prepared then to maximize the effects of the next steps.

Dermaplanning is nothing to be feared either and it is so much more than “shaving my face”. Dermaplaning exfoliates the skin, removes peach fuzz, and is perfect for dull-looking skin. And because you’re removing any and all of your dead skin cells, It is said that your skincare products will better penetrate when you apply them, making them all the more effective.

We followed the dermaplaning with steam and then an Aspect Fruit enzyme mask and a pomegranate peel to flood my skin with antioxidants. Holly then did a few extractions using an ultrasonic spatula; this guy produces sound-waves to wiggle everything out of the pores.

The highlight of the facial was the Hydrojelly Mask. This mask, although covering my eyes and mouth was lightweight, cooling, and relaxing! While that was working its magic, Holly provided the perfect neck and shoulder massage. The mask then peeled off, and Holly completed the glow with skincare and a hydrating mist.

The glow up was real! After I got changed, Holly returned with a QT Collagen drink to complete the glow up and hydrate me from the inside.

The facial experience was perfect; I have a wedding coming up, bridesmaid, and I am thinking it would be perfect for helping refresh my skin and provide the ideal base for the makeup artist.

I actually really loved Holly as well! It was easy and joyful, and I am a thrilled Hannah now. Holly does so much more than just facials, with Nails, and lashes, and brows also. I booked in with Holly promptly for a lash lift, and I am looking forward to it.
