My Weekend With The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer
My weekend was pretty special because I got to ride in a brand new BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. So new, that when I picked it up it had only done 700km. I tested this guy out with a number of events planned over the weekend, granted it was a typical weekend for me but isn't that the best way to test out a car? I fell in love pretty quick. The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer has been thought out through and through.
Let me start with the little things that make life easy. The boot is hands free. Using the remote you can open the boot before you hop out of the car, or have your hands full with shopping. Once the boot is full, simply push a button on the boot and boom it closes itself for you. I popped my Jacket in the boot just to use this feature every-time.
Parking was a breeze in the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer. A rear camera and sensors at the back and front helped me line up my route and reverse into the garage. I felt more confident and my parking was on point every-time.
The sound-system of course is highly important. I could connect my phone via bluetooth or USB and was then able to access my playlists, Spotify, contacts, telephone numbers, addresses etc. The BMW 2 Series Active Tourer dashboard told me if I had emails waiting. I loved it. For a girl on the go, it was awesome to be able to call contacts hands free.
BMW have taken it to the next level however with BMW Concierge, or Connected Drive. Your car becomes more than just a people mover but it's got your back with a personal assistant. Whether you wish to book a table in a restaurant or a search for a destination BMW Call Centre Agents from Concierge Services are on hand to assist 27/7. You just press a button and you are connected directly. All new BMW's will be fitted with this free service, that has so much to offer including an SOS button. It is all very James Bond, but as a single woman it is nice to know that if I am in an accident there is someone to help me out. This car's got my back big time.
This car isn't just bells and whistles, it is economical too. I used half a tank - about 400km and it cost me $22.10 to fill it up again. This blew my mind. The car also stops too at the lights smoothly helping with full efficiency.
I was sad to let this car go. We had a great weekend.
