Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation - A Beauty Review
YSL have come out with their first night and day wear foundation.Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation provides a flawless matte complexion which says put until all hours. Already it seems that Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation has been getting rave reviews all across my social feeds. But I wanted to test it. I have tried this product with and without primer, with and without any skincare (yes I know) and on different days and occasions. Here is my complete review.
The Packaging: Well, of course, we love the packaging. It is YSL overall.
The Product: This innovative formula is waterproof and transfer-resistant, and I tested this (as I am very prone to getting makeup on my man's clothes) and yes! Transfer-resistant yes it is! More so than my other foundations I have reviewed.
An added benefit is that Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation enriched with a skin care complex and UV filter, this active foundation protects skin against external aggressions leaving it looking fresh and smooth
Application: I found Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation tricky to apply, It applies magically with a blending sponge, but I struggled with a standard foundation brush. The YSL Foundation brush is awesome with this, but overall I recommend the Yves Saint Laurent Teint Encre De Peau Sponge which retails for $33.
It developed in colour once applied which made my skin look flawless and it provided full coverage without the heavy feeling. It promises Matte shine control throughout the day. However, I did have a bit of shine come 5 pm - A LOT less than with Too Faced Born This Way Foundation.
Overall I can say this product lives up to the hype. It does, however, retail for $101 so is pricy. With that as a consideration, Estee Lauder Double Wear is still a winner if you are looking for a foundation that is long wearing. The benefit of Yves Saint Laurent All Hours Full Coverage Matte Foundation is that it provides a long-lasting foundation and comfortably it is not heavy or thick.
So would I buy it again? Yes, I would.
